Many of you ask for recipes for energy bars, as it is an easy and healthy snack that we can have with us at work and get fiber and energy at any time, any place. As many bars from the stores contain lots of sugar and saturated fat, it’s best to make our own, with pure ingredients and good fats. What do you think?
You will need
1/2 cup tahini
1/2 cup agave or maple syrup or molasses
2 tbsp coconut oil
1 cup walnuts-almonds-peanuts
2 cups oats
some dried fruit
1/4 tbsp salt
a few drops of chocolate (optional)
Method
First heat the coconut oil in a saucepan, then add the tahini, syrup and chocolate drops and stir. In a bowl, mix the chopped nuts (first roast the almonds if you want), the oats, the salt and the dried fruit, stirring and then pour in the bowl your liquid mixture and stir well until the mixture is all blended together.
Line some parchment paper on a baking tray and then spread your mixture with your hands. Cover it and refrigerate for 3 hours. Once cool, take it out and cut your bars into the pieces you want. Your snack is ready and you can store it in the fridge or enjoy it immediately!
Tip
You can turn it into a delicious dessert by melting some dark chocolate (with at least 70% cocoa) in bain marie and spreading it on your bars before you put them in the fridge.
