Homemade cashews cheese

Cashews are pretty beneficial for our immune system and general health and it’s an ideal addition in your diet. It’s high in nutritional value, giving us protein, vitamins K, E and B6, as well as iron, selenium, phosphorus, zinc, magnesium and copper. Plus, its fiber content is a plus for our gut microbiome which is our most important system controller.

You can eat them as a snack, in your salad or use them in a plant-based butter or cheese.

With all that in mind, why not attempt to make our own vegan cashews cheese together people?

Ingredients
1½ cup of cashews
½ tsp garlic powder
¼ cup nutritional yeast
some vinegar
salt/pepper

Method
Start by soaking 1½ cup of cashews in water overnight and the next day add them in your food processor along with ½ tsp garlic powder, some vinegar, salt, pepper, and ¼ cup nutritional yeast. Pulse the mixture and add some water if needed, until you have a smooth and thick mixture, kind of like hummus. Taste it, add salt or pepper to taste and put it in the refrigerator until it gets harder.

Serve with extra herbs or other flavorings and tell me what you think! 

Tip
You can add some of your favorite herbs and spices, like oregano or curcumin in the recipe for a more intense flavor and color!
