Golden latte with turmeric

Do you like to experiment with beverages and try out new things? You don’t need to go out to drink something out of the ordinary. Try making turmeric latte at home.

Many call it “golden milk” and it has become a trend lately. And although trends are not always healthy and beneficial, since in this particular one, the basic ingredient is turmeric, it can benefit us. The antioxidant curcumin it contains can increase the production of brain neurotrophic factor (BDNF), the low levels of which are associated with mental loss and neurological disorders.

You’ll need (for 1 cup)
1 cup of plant-based milk
½ to 3/4 teaspoon turmeric
some molasses if you want it sweet
some grated cinnamon
black pepper

Method
Heat your milk over low heat, add the turmeric and mix. Add molasses, cinnamon and pepper and mix as well – note that pepper helps in better absorption. Transfer it to a cup and enjoy!

Tip
For extra antioxidants and spiciness, try adding some ginger, which also relieves bloating and gut problems.

While drinking your latte, browse through the nutrition plans in www.feedyourimmunity.com and find the one that feels good for you, whether you’re dealing with an autoimmune disease or want to turn to plant-based nutrition for immune support.
