Cocoa with spices

A hot cocoa drink in the winter is one of the most comfort drinks, highly antioxidant, with an important role in the prevention of aging, cardiovascular diseases and cancer.

So, since it has all these benefits on its own, why bother enhancing it? –you may ask. Well, the answer is simple: to get the most out of a drink, both in taste and in antioxidant, anti-inflammatory content, aiming to support the immune system which at this point is truly imperative, since we’re in the middle of the flu season, with Covid and all the other viruses having a… party.

Shall we upgrade it?

You’ll need
1 tbsp cocoa
¼ tsp curcumin
black pepper
a pinch of cinnamon
1 tsp molasses
¾ cup water
plant-based milk (optional)

Method In a small pan, pour the water and start boiling it at high temperature. Add the cocoa, curcumin, pepper, cinnamon and molasses and stir.

Pour your mixture in a cup and add some almond milk or whatever else plant-based milk you want.

Tip
For extra kick, you can add some ginger, which is good for the stomach and the digestive system.
